HWQ 6-2 (10 pts):
A rockets engine propels it upwards then it coasts upwards after the
engine burns out. Eventually the rocket reaches max height then starts
accellerating towards the ground. Eventually a parachute opens and the
rocket decellerates until hitting the ground. The velocity of the rocket is
graphed below.
The velocity of a rocket:
(2 pts each) 1. Give the time t at which the following events occur:
a. At what time does the rockets engine burn out?
b. At what time does the rocket reach max height?
c. At what time does the parachute open up?
(4 pts): If the position of an object is p(t) = t3 − 6t2 + 9t, the object
changes direction twice. Find the acceleration of the object at each time
that the object changes direction.
