Computer Science Transfer 2-year Liberal Arts (AS) degree | Potential Careers: Software engineering, computer programming Explore the theory and foundations of computer technology. Not only will you get your core education to transfer to a four-year school, you will learn basic programming and the tools used in the development of cutting edge computing solutions. Computer Support Specialist 2-year AAS degree | Potential Careers: Computer support, technical support Provide technical assistance to users as well as maintain, upgrade, and repair computer systems and networks. Students interested in this field should have an interest in working with people. They should also enjoy learning about new technology and be willing to work on both hardware and software systems. Good writing and communications skills are also required. This degree focuses on a variety of IT skills that include hardware, software, networking and programming, as well as problem-solving and analytical skills. Graphic Communication Technology 2-year AAS degree | Potential Careers: Graphic designer, advertising, print and publishing Learn design, layout, image manipulation and illustration, as well as final graphics used in print, web and motion graphics, plus receive extensive experience working on Mac computers using industry standard software from Adobe. Network and System Administration 2-year AAS degree | Potential Careers: Network technician, network administrator Network and system administrators work in a fast-paced and challenging area of ethnology that designs, builds, integrates, maintains and secures local area networks. They design and support server systems and related software, as well as provide end-user support for all LAN-based applications. After completing a common course of study for the first three semesters, network and system administration majors will choose from three specialty areas to match individual interests and employment availability. Network Administration emplasis: Specialize in LAN and WAN infrastructure including wireless, desktop systems and protocol suites. System Administration emphasis: Specialize in server hardware and software, directory services, scripting and storage management. Security and Virtualization emphasis: Specialize in system firewalls, secure group policy, access control lists, information and management with disaster recover, virtual network design and implementation, and virtual switching and routing. Telecommunications Technology 2-year AAS degree | Potential Careers: Fiber optics installer, network management technician Learn to install, provision, test and troubleshoot circuits ranging from simple phone lines to high speed optical fiber circuits. You will also study access technologies used in cell phones, high speed Internet and wireless communication.
