TV bullpen steps up
The stations’ Education and
Outreach department recently received
a $4,000 grant from the PBS children’s
program, “It’s a Big Big World.”
The department will use the money
for the North Central Florida Alliance
for the Education of Young Children
Educational Extravaganza on March
10, the Earth Day Event at the Florida
Natural History Museum on April 21,
and the Party for the Planet on April 22.
Recent improvements in the TV
news reporters’ bullpen allow tape
logging, scripting and editing from
the same desk for special projects.
This interim step is part of an
effort to create a pair of areas,
rooms 2135 and G215, where
broadcast news students can have
access to nonlinear editors for
special projects and resume tapes.
College engineers
