Assessment of Course Learning Objectives Guiding Principles Courses within the Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management Program apply the following guiding principles to ensure that the application and measurement of course learning objectives are achieved on a course-by-course basis. These five assessment indicators of course quality are: 1. Course has multiple timely and appropriate activities to assess student understanding of course content. 2. Course learning objectives, instructional and assessment activities are closely aligned. 3. Ongoing multiple assessment strategies are used to measure content knowledge, attitudes and skills. 4. Regular feedback about student performance is provided in a timely manner throughout the course. 5. Students' performance assessments and feedback opportunities exist throughout the course.
