ABE Department Announces
Update on COE Design Day Event
Everyone at the College of Engineering Design Day was a winner, and the exciting news is that two of
our teams came home with the money. We submitted diverse projects including an Archimedes screw
pump that was solar powered, aquaculture project that was designed and built for Tanque Verde High
School, modifications to an onion bulb harvester, and use of reverse osmosis to remove water from
sweet sorghum juice. Three out of four of the teams got afternoon visits by the award judges, and two
were winners. Congratulations to all of our participants.
