Led fourteen week Incredible Years classes aimed at helping parents respond to children’s challenging behaviors. Provided therapy to children and parents in the Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) model. Sought funding for and co-led a two part, eight session parenting group on topics such as play, nutrition, and child behavior management. Served on the agency’s diversity committee for two years, helping implement two large – scale diversity trainings and other smaller scale trainings. Supervised student interns and trained new staff in program model. Maintained active membership in the Local Interagency Coordinating Council of Durham (LICC), the Local Access to Coordinated Healthcare (LATCH) steering committee, and Working to Empower Spanish Speakers in the Triangle (WEST), advocating for client population and sharing resources during meetings. Attended clinic visits with families providing support, helping with the communication between provider and patient, and seeking ways to provide follow up support and information. Maintained contact with agencies relevant to patients such as Early Intervention, the Health Department, and pediatricians to improve communication and quality of care. Advocated for clients by presenting and discussing psychosocial needs in weekly multidisciplinary care conference with prenatal and pediatric specialists.
