Solar Sub Racks from Emerson Network Power
enable NetSure™ DC power systems and existing
-48V DC power systems to operate on solar energy.
Description
Add solar energy to an existing -48V DC power system by integrating the Solar Sub
Rack into the existing cabinet. The desired output voltage from the sub rack is set
in the controller and is independent from the DC power supply system controller.
The Solar Sub Rack exists in two versions:
• Main unit with controller and space for one 3 kW solar converter module
• Extension unit with space for two 3 kW solar converter modules
Extension sub racks are connected to the main sub rack via CAN
bus, allowing communication between the solar converters in the
extension sub rack and the controller in the main sub rack.
Extension sub racks can also be connected directly to NetSure™
DC power systems equipped with ACU+ controller.
Application
The Solar Sub Rack is intended for telecom sites in the access and transmission
network, providing an alternative energy source (solar energy) to the existing grid
connection or battery/diesel generator hybrid. Savings in electricity and diesel fuel
costs can be achieved by operating on solar energy during the daylight hours.
