What is our view (the American view) of the environment? What is
the world view?

What is your view of the environment?

What is the most appropriate “tool” to use for the restoration of the
environment?

Is it man’s (woman’s) destiny to rule the world? What exactly do we
mean by rule?

Are there laws of life (as mentioned in Ishmael)? Explain what they
are according to Ishmael and/or Wilson.

How do you now answer the question “What do I do?”
Group work/Individual:

Develop a list of questions about either book.

Develop a list of things you have learned about Ishmael or The Future
of Life.

Both authors try to espouse a philosophy about the environment.
Describe each author’s philosophy.

Both authors have a position (an argument) on the state of the
environment, our role in environmental issues. Select one of the
author’s positions and explain it in detail. Do you agree or disagree
with the position? Use the book as a resource to help support your
view.
