DESCRIPTION:
Problem solving skills are ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to the engineer, but some of us struggle
at times. This can depend on the type of problem, the amount of information given, the team
we are working with, etc. This exercise steps the birdfeeder design teams through a
‘Divergence and Convergence’ problem solving process that helps break down a seemingly
diverse and complex problem into solvable pieces. Please see section 8.4 of your text for
details on how to approach each part of the process.
DELIVERABLE:
Complete the worksheet on the back of this page for the Birdfeeder Design (Project 3). This
worksheet covers the Divergence and Convergence problem solving process found in Figure
8.4 of your text. Only one is needed per team, but if you need more space use more than one
worksheet. Include all team member names (first and last) on every page turned in.
