As a student employee of the Ohio Northern University Getty College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s
Office, you may be exposed to confidential records and information regarding the University’s
constituency. Part of your agreement with the University must include your willingness to respect
our constituents’ right to privacy, to deal discreetly with the information to which you are exposed,
and to avoid disseminating confidential information to anyone not directly affiliated with the A&S
Dean’s Office.
Non-public information is the property of the institution for which it was collected and shall not be
given to persons other than those who are involved with the A&S Dean’s Office or those who need
that information in the performance of their duties to Ohio Northern University.
Confidential information pertaining to prospective, current, or former students and faculty or
alumni shall be scrupulously protected so that the relationship of trust between the individual and
the institution is protected and the integrity of the A&S Dean’s Office is upheld.
Student and faculty records, both hard-copy and electronic, and any other student and faculty
information are highly confidential and protected by both University and A&S Dean’s Office policy
and federal and state laws. You must not discuss with anyone outside the office, even the individual
student or faculty member, any personal student information, nor may you release any information
or documents to a third party without proper authorization to do so.
A violation of this trust is grounds for immediate termination of employment and possible grounds
for further disciplinary action.
