To whom it may concern: Lincoln Memorial University’s Veterinary Medical Technology Program requires prospective students to obtain 20 hours of observation time in a veterinary facility for acceptance in our program. This requirement gives the prospective student some insight into the career of veterinary medical technology. The student should not be expected to perform technical skills as he/she has not been accepted in the program. However, the student should exhibit an attitude and aptitude which will demonstrate that he/she has the potential to be a licensed veterinary medical technician. Please document the number of hours spent in your facility and the type of practice. I have enclosed a documentation sheet for your convenience. The LMU Veterinary Medical Technology Program appreciates your willingness to participate in the preparation of this student for a career in veterinary medical technology. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
