IllinoisUniversitycommunitywithprofessionalservicesandhigh-quality,cost-effectivepublicationswhile
upholding the institution’s core values and image.
DPS...
• hostedanoutsideconsultantwholookedatDPS’soperationsandinterviewedstaff,administrators,
andcustomersaboutDPS.Theconsultantmadeseveralsignificantrecommendationsfor
improvementswithinDPS,includingestablishingeffectivesystemsforunderstandingandmanaging
expensesandrevenueandusingthatinformationtomodifypricing,increaseworkvolume,adjustjob
turnaroundtimes,enhancecustomerrelations,andmodifytheUniversityCopierProgram(UCP).The

FacilitiesManagementisaserviceorganizationfortheWesternIllinoisUniversity–Macombcampuswith
theultimategoaltoprovidethebestteachingandlivingenvironmentforourstudents.Thisisadifficult
propositionwithouragingfacilities(over$500millionindeferredmaintenance),shrinkingappropriated
operatingbudget(down$400,000/yearcomparedtofiveyearsago),andsmallerstaff(personnelservices
down$1million/yearcomparedtofiveyearsago).Toprovidethebestservices,wehavetocontinually

technical assistance for the benefit of law enforcement executives throughout Illinois.
