8-15 hours per week
Minimum Qualifications:
• Student must have at least two semesters of student employment eligibility.
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible work schedule to meet operation's needs.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Experience working with customer service industry and knowledge of officiating.
• Previous experience in recreation/sport activities.
• Participation in activities offered by Intramural Sports.
• Evidence of CPR/FA certification.
General Responsibilities:
The Intramural Sports Official reports to the Intramural Sports Lead Student Manager and shall
assist the Intramural Sports Supervisors with the administration of the Intramural Sports
Program.
Specific Duties:
1. Responsible for working at scheduled times or finding a substitute.
2. Responsible for attending all meetings scheduled by the Intramural Sports Coordinator.
3. Responsible for attending all training clinics scheduled by the Intramural Sports Coordinator.
4. Assist with the equipment set up and take down during work shift.
5. Report all injuries, vandalism, equipment needs, or any problems to the Intramural
Supervisors.
6. Responsible for enforcing intramural rules and policies with the participants.
7. Responsible for developing a good rapport and strong communications between yourself and
the participants.
8. Responsible for communicating with participants, fellow officials, recreational assistants,
supervisors, Intramural office staff, and Intramural Sports Coordinator in a professional
manner to maintain a positive and fun working environment.
9. Responsible for sharing suggestions, ideas, equipment needs, etc. with the IM support staff.
10. Take pride in the University Recreation Program, maintain a positive, cooperative, customer
service oriented attitude, and contribute to a successful program.
11. Responsible for promoting University Recreation and Intramural Sports Program.
12. Responsible for performing other assigned duties as required by the Lead Student Manager,
Intramural Supervisors and/or Intramural Sports Coordinator.
