# 1 Weekend Classroom Consolidations Group weekend classes into the Applied Arts/ Jarvis/ Micheels complex year‐
round. Maximizes space and allows for powering down facilities not scheduled for classes or events. 2 Lighting Retrofits Install LED retrofits, occupancy sensors, etc to reduce electrical loads in priority buildings across campus: APPA, FRYH, HERH, S&FC, VOCR. Work via Focus on Energy when possible for rebates, grants. 3 Faculty/Staff Social Norming Campaign Distribute “Just Enough” to encourage efficient energy use across campus through thoughtful, practiced personal behavior. 4 Building Dashboard Software Implement web‐based application that tracks real‐time analytics about UW‐Stout Buildings. Monitor and make available for classroom and campus projects.
5 Residence Hall Social Norming Campaign (Student Focus) Distribute “Energy Wise” to encourage efficient energy use in the residence halls. 6 Appliance Coordinator Procedure Update the Building Supervisor Policy to include “appliance coordinators.” These coordinators will be assigned the task of turning off network printers, copiers, other appliances in the major departmental office suites. 7 Building Energy Audits Perform energy audits of 3‐4 buildings with the highest energy consumption per square foot. Identify targeted loss and benchmark buildings for energy improvements. 8 Performance Contracting / Retro Commissioning—WI State Program Contract with energy service company to replace existing equipment/infrastructure with more efficient equipment. Change operation or control strategies. 9 Personal Appliances Awareness Publicize information regarding energy used by personal heaters and fridges. Potentially require energy star specifications for personal appliances.
10 HVAC Controls (DDC) Project 11 “Events 2 HVAC” Software System (or equivalent) Upgrade heating and cooling systems controls from pneumatic to direct digital control providing more accurate temperature control and scheduling of occupancy. Implement system that automatically pulls room scheduling information from EMS and sends commands to heating and cooling systems, turning them on and off as appropriate based on schedule information.
