Bemidji State University, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs. July 2009 to July
2015. Primary responsibilities included coordinating University-wide assessment of student
learning outcomes, curriculum review, budgeting for Academic Affairs, faculty hiring, faculty
evaluation, grant and contract review, supervision of office of Institutional Research and
Effectiveness, supervision of the Registrar’s office, and supervision of the Library.
Bemidji State University, Associate Dean, College of Arts and Sciences. July, 2008-June
2009. Worked with the College Dean to assist with faculty professional development and
evaluation, departmental five-year plans and assessment plans, data analysis, and other
administrative duties.
Bemidji State University, Associate Dean, Department of Professional Education. 20072008. Worked with the Professional Education faculty, and College Dean to assist the
department in preparation for Board of Teaching program approval. Engaged in evaluation of
faculty, involved in faculty searches, administered collective bargaining agreement, and
performed other administrative duties.
Bemidji State University, Chair, Department of Biology. 2000 to 2007. Worked with seven
other faculty members to coordinate budgets, develop curriculum, and complete other
departmental tasks. Successful in fundraising for student-faculty research and equipment needs.

Higher Education Administration Coursework In 2010, completed coursework from
Northeastern University including “Management of Higher Education”, “Program Evaluation
and Assessment”, and “Legal Issues in Higher Education”.

in the School of Pharmacy at UW-Madison.
1988 to 1992. Predoctoral trainee in the Ph.D. program in the Department of Bacteriology at
UW-Madison. Held a National Institutes of Health traineeship from the Cellular and Molecular
Biology training grant, 6/88 to 6/91. Graduated with a Ph.D. in Bacteriology, May, 1992.
Summer, 1986. Participated in a National Science Foundation-sponsored summer course in
biotechnology for high school teachers at Minnesota State University- Mankato.
1983 to 1984. Attended UW-Eau Claire in the Master of Arts in Teaching-Biology program.
