Alverno Financial Aid Scholarship List Scholarships Available with Applications Scholarship Name Qualifications/Contact Information WAICU (WI Association of Independent Colleges and Universities) Scholarships Criteria: All scholarships can be applied for with one application. WAICU First Generation Scholarship (1 recipient, $5,000) This scholarship is available only to a first generation college student at Alverno College. Recipients of the Scholarship must demonstrate financial need. Rath Distinguished Scholarship (2 recipients, $12,000 each) The Rath Distinguished Merit Scholarship must be awarded based on academic achievement, merit and leadership. Financial need is not considered a factor. Recipients of a Rath Distinguished Scholarship must be accepted or enrolled as students in good standing. The recipient must have demonstrated academic excellence. In addition, scholarship recipients are to demonstrate strong campus and community leadership. Scholars much be a U.S. citizen; Wisconsin residents preferred. Sentry Insurance Foundation Scholarship (1 recipient, $1,000) The Sentry Insurance Foundation Scholarship is for students majoring in business, economics, mathematics, management information systems (MIS), industrial design, communication design, or interior architecture/design. Students selected as recipients must demonstrate financial need, have a declared major in the fields listed above, and be a full-time undergraduate.
