WAICU (WI Association of

Universities) Scholarships
Criteria:
All scholarships can be applied for with one application.
 WAICU First Generation Scholarship (1 recipient, $5,000)
 This scholarship is available only to a first generation college student at Alverno College.
Recipients of the Scholarship must demonstrate financial need.
 Rath Distinguished Scholarship (2 recipients, $12,000 each)
 The Rath Distinguished Merit Scholarship must be awarded based on academic achievement,
merit and leadership. Financial need is not considered a factor. Recipients of a Rath
Distinguished Scholarship must be accepted or enrolled as students in good standing. The
recipient must have demonstrated academic excellence. In addition, scholarship recipients are
to demonstrate strong campus and community leadership. Scholars much be a U.S. citizen;
Wisconsin residents preferred.
 Sentry Insurance Foundation Scholarship (1 recipient, $1,000)
 The Sentry Insurance Foundation Scholarship is for students majoring in business, economics,
mathematics, management information systems (MIS), industrial design, communication
design, or interior architecture/design. Students selected as recipients must demonstrate
financial need, have a declared major in the fields listed above, and be a full-time
undergraduate.
 UPS/CIC Foundation Scholarship (1 recipient, $2,450)
 The UPS Scholarship is to be given to a full-time undergraduate student whose background
reflects one or more of the components in the target population for the UPS Foundation and
CIC's First Opportunity Program: first generation, low-income, minority, or new American
students.

 Applicants must be Alverno junior or senior in the Community Leadership Program; One
available for a sophomore or junior in Global Studies, Politics, or Sociology.

 Degree areas for consideration as a part of this scholarship are environmental education,
recycling, waste management, environmental engineering, the environmental sciences, public
administration or a related field or other degree areas with a demonstrated interest in a career
in waste resource management industry.

off.
 Applicant must be a continuing student with at least 2 semesters of school completed since
