Establishing Ecotype Appropriate Weed Free Seed Source 2009 Accomplishments The purpose and need for this project is to establish native seed and plant sources for natural recruitment and anthropogenic restoration efforts. Implementation of this project will help develop techniques and policies for use of native plant materials on the Ozark/St. Francis National Forests This project will also provide opportunities for cooperation and partnerships with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission in the restoration of native plant communities. 2009 accomplishments: We coordinated with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission through our existing MOU to agree to assist the Forest in the future with native seed harvesting in return for a portion of the seed harvested to use on projects were they would like to utilize warm season grass seed.
