Student Bursary

Overview

The importance of agriculture in today’s world cannot be overstated. The field is as diverse and exciting area of study, beginning on the land with primary crop and Livestock production while encompassing the global concerns of marketing and distribution, bio technology, environmental management, mechanical technology, veterinary science and animal welfare and social economic strategies, to name a few.

Bursary Incentive

The intent of this bursary is to financially assist a maximum of 4 deserving students to further or continue their studies in agriculturally related field at a post secondary institute. To that end the Dufferin Federation of Agriculture is offering an annual $2000.00 (4 x $500.00) scholarship, to be equally divided between the successful applicant from Dufferin County. The Bursary will total $500.00 per Student.

Regulations

To be considered for this bursary the successful candidate must have completed:

1. The accompanying application form.

2. Submit a copy of their most recent official transcript of marks (secondary)

3. Include a cover letter introducing themselves to the Federation of Agriculture and describing their commitment to the advancement of agriculture.

4. Applications to be returned to the Dufferin Federation of Agriculture before

September 30, 2011.

Methodology

Following the deadline of September 30 th

, a committee of the Dufferin Federation of Agriculture will conduct interviews of the applicants, their decision will be announced prior to commencement and the scholarship awarded at the Commencement Ceremonies of the recipients.
