Each of the Forest Leadership Team is delegated the authority to determine who, under the various human resource programs, shall wear the uniform or volunteer vest (volunteers only). 2. Each of the Forest Leadership Team is delegated the authority to determine who shall be required to wear the uniform and the optional components of the uniform, which are required by the position. The parent text and Regional supplements define many specific positions. The following criteria shall be used in evaluating the need and appropriateness for personnel other than those specifically identified, to wear a uniform: a. Identification. Is there a need for the uniform to provide a ready means of identification in a setting in which it is not readily apparent or known that the employee is representing the Forest Service in their contact with the public? b. Image. Is there an opportunity to project the Forest Service image in a high visibility situation in which the person will be able to answer the full range of questions which would normally be posed by the public? c. Information. The individual is present in the Forest environment and is expected as a part of their normal responsibilities to provide the visiting public with information or assistance. The Forest Leadership Team is delegated the authority to sign Form FS-6100-36, Uniform Requirements. Each Unit shall retain a copy of this form and send original to the Budget and Finance (B&F) section in the Forest Headquarters. B&F shall maintain all records on uniform allowances.
