The Forest Supervisor has delegated authority to the District Rangers for the following items. This authority may not be redelegated. 1. It is the responsibility of the District Ranger to obtain necessary input from appropriate Staff Specialists to insure that management objectives are defined and that they are met by the prescribed burn. 2. District Rangers are delegated the authority to approve all Fire Use Plans (this includes both prescribed fire and wildland fire use for resource benefits). 3. The District Ranger shall also insure that all personnel involved in the planning and execution of burning operations are qualified to perform their job according to Service-wide and Regional requirements (FSM 5140 and FSH 5109.17).
