Each District Ranger of the Tonto National Forest is hereby authorized to issue Special Use Permits within his/her district's boundary, and to approve the corresponding National Environmental Policy Act documentation (where needed) for the following types of activities and uses: 1. RECREATION USE (2721) a. Appropriate uses of recreation residence (123) when located within one of the following designated Summer Homes Areas: Pinal Mountain, Crabtree Wash, Camp Creek (upper and lower), Ellison Creek, Diamond Point, and Thompson Draw. Excluded from this delegation are cases where the living (heated) space would be increased. b. Appropriate uses of temporary nature (one year or less). Excluded from this delegation are activities that would involve: (1) Off-road land travel by motor vehicles. (2) Use by groups of 200 or more people for land-based activities, or use by groups of 500 or more people for reservoir/lake-based activities. (3) Use of any Wilderness by a group or more than 25 people at one time. 2. AGRICULTURE (2722) a. Appropriate apiary-type uses (214) for a period not to exceed five years. b. Appropriate uses of a temporary nature (one year or less) by all other use codes. 3. COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC INFORMATION (2723) a.
