2435.11 - Salvage Sale Fund Plan. Review and update Salvage Sale Fund Plans annually. Forest
Supervisor should specify a date for completion of the annual review. Also review Salvage Sale
Fund plans just prior to closing the sale.
Use Form R2-2430-2, Salvage Sale Fund Plan (exhibit 01). Complete the estimated cost of the authorized activity on the top portion of the form. These figures should reflect the costs for the total volume on the sale, not just the salvage volume.
Line 1 is the total direct costs from the top portion.
Line 2 computes the Washington Office, Regional Office, and Forest General
Administrative costs. Obtain the percent used from the current Forest supplement to FSH
1909.12.
Line 3 computes the Program Management cost for the Forest, if there is any.
Line 5 determines the portion of the total planned needs attributable to the salvage material.
Line 6 computes the permissible excess collection based on the Regional percentage of collections allowed in excess of actual needs. Authorize excess collections only from qualifying salvage sales.
Line 8 shows the maximum permissible collection. The criteria for the calculations is the available stumpage less the amount required for essential K-V reforestation.
Line 9 shows the amount to be collected and deposited to the salvage sale fund. It is the lesser of line 7 or line 8.

The limitation may be exceeded only with approval of the Regional Forester.
2435.2 - Minimum Deposits to National Forest Fund. If there is not a minimum deposit to
Knutson-Vandenberg funds, there must be a minimum deposit to the National Forest Fund.
Minimum deposits are $0.50/MBF (or equivalent) or one-half of the bid price whichever is less.
