Supervisor should specify a date for completion of the annual review. Also review Salvage Sale

Fund plans just prior to closing the sale.

Use Form R2-2430-2, Salvage Sale Fund Plan (exhibit 01). Complete the estimated cost of the authorized activity on the top portion of the form. These figures should reflect the costs for the total volume on the sale, not just the salvage volume.

Administrative costs. Obtain the percent used from the current Forest supplement to FSH

1909.12.

Line 5 determines the portion of the total planned needs attributable to the salvage material.

Line 6 computes the permissible excess collection based on the Regional percentage of collections allowed in excess of actual needs. Authorize excess collections only from qualifying salvage sales.

Line 8 shows the maximum permissible collection. The criteria for the calculations is the available stumpage less the amount required for essential K-V reforestation.

Line 9 shows the amount to be collected and deposited to the salvage sale fund. It is the lesser of line 7 or line 8.
