PART III CLAUSE FOR MAINTENANCE OF
PINYON/JUNIPER TREATMENT AREAS
(Amount) acres of the (name) allotment were treated to remove the pinyon/juniper overstory and
reseeded to improve livestock forage production. Currently (amount) head months or
(percentage) percent of the permitted obligation are based on this revegetation work.
To retain the permitted capacity from these areas will require project revegetation maintenance
on (amount) acres annually by removal of pinyon/juniper encroachment. Maintenance of
pinyon/juniper revegetation projects from conifer encroachment will be on an optional basis.
However, failure to perform this necessary maintenance will result in adjustments to numbers of
livestock permitted and season of use as changes in forage production occur.
