KNF SUPPLEMENT 2100-98-1 EFFECTIVE DATE: 09/25/1998 DURATION: Effective until superseded or removed. 2150 Page 2 of 2 FSM 2100 – ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT CHAPTER 50 – PESTICIDE-USE MANAGEMENT AND COORDINATION 2150 - PESTICIDE-USE MANAGEMENT AND COORDINATION 2150.45 - Forest Supervisors and District Rangers The Forest Supervisor shall appoint an individual to serve as local Pesticide/Herbicide Use Coordinator. These coordinators are not necessarily Pesticide/Herbicide Specialists. Specialist activities are to be handled within resource functions. In addition to insuring the implementation of those responsibilities in FSM 2150 the District will be responsible for the timely submission of all reports and proposals required in FSM 2150 and insuring that pesticides/herbicides are thoroughly considered as project alternatives where applicable. 2151 – REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF PESTICIDE USE Delegation is made to District Rangers to approve use of housekeeping-type pesticides as defined in FSM 2150.5--2 AND 2151. Approval may be verbal; does not require the completion of a Pesticide-Use Proposal, Form 2100-2; and use is not reportable on the annual Pesticide-Use Report, Form FS 2100-1. 2158.1 – Forms and Reports Annually each Ranger District must complete and submit the Pesticide-Use Report (FS-2100-1) to the Supervisor's Office by September 15th, reporting all pesticides used during the preceding fiscal year. The report shall include all pesticide uses by the Forest Service or other Federal Agencies on National Forest System lands, grantees, licensees, and permittees; and by cooperating State and private landowners if Forest Service funds are not involved. It shall include all pesticides applied in projects and programs but shall not include housekeeping uses. (FSM 2150.5). Negative use reports are required. See FSH 2109.11 for instructions for completing the report. District reports shall be summarized in the Supervisor's Office and a Forest Pesticide Use Report shall be submitted to the Regional Office no later than October 1st of each year.
