Employees may contact the INFO Center directly for the services listed below. The Region 4 contact for issues relating to the management of the center is the Resource Planning Specialist, State and Private Forestry, Regional Office (Phone: 801-6255259). FS-INFO INTERMOUNTAIN services available to Region 4 employees include: 1. FS-INFO INTERMOUNTAIN Monthly Alert (current literature alerting service). The Alert announces new publications relating to forestry in the western States. Each item in the Alert is stocked at the Ogden center. Depending on supplies, either a retention or a loan copy will be mailed when requested directly from the Ogden Center (Intermountain Research Station, 324 25th Street, Ogden, UT 84401, phone: 801-625-5444) or by submitting the cover of the Alert. 2. General Document Delivery Services. All other published materials requested are delivered by this service. FS-INFO INTERMOUNTAIN uses Forest Service libraries and the libraries of cooperating universities to obtain material. The service is supported by the Regional Document Delivery Service of the National Agricultural Library. FS-INFO INTERMOUNTAIN also obtains materials from other libraries, including foreign libraries. 3. Reference Service Bibliographies and Information Retrieval. New management programs and research projects generate a need for literature searches and other information. FS-INFO INTERMOUNTAIN has computer-based literature searching capability as well as reference resources in its own library and those of the cooperating universities. 4. Consultation with Specialists. The most relevant and recent information can often be obtained only from a specialist. FS-INFO INTERMOUNTAIN provides contact with specialists and researchers in the Forest Service as well as elsewhere.
