Trailer a. Each district will identify a district employee to be in charge of the district' s trailer program. This person will work closely with .the Forest Fleet Manager to manage the district's trailer program. b. The designated district trailer person will establish and maintain a complete inventory of all district-owned trailers. NOTE: Any trailers no longer needed will be disposed of through Property disposition/excess procedures. c. The assigned district employee will help ensure operators properly maintain district trailers and that monthly PM inspections are completed on form R3Coconino-7100-9b (Appendix B) during each month the equipment is expected to be available for use. Completed forms are to be submitted to the Forest Fleet Manager. d. The assigned district employee will manage the annual inspection program for all district trailers by ensuring annual inspections are completed, identified deficiencies are corrected, and the appropriate project/program job code is used to pay for these inspections and/or repairs Operators shall report all maintenance problems. Operators shall not put the vehicle back into regular service until deficiencies in safety items are corrected. 2. Annual Mechanical/Safety Inspections -_A qualified mechanic shall perform the annual inspection using form FS- 71 00-4a, Mechanical Inspection of Automotive Equipment. Any deficiencies items identified during the inspection should be corrected before putting the vehicle back into regular service. All annual inspections are expected to be completed by the end of March each fiscal year (to ensure all vehicles are ready for the beginning of field-going and fire seasons). a. A copy of each vehicle/equipment's annual inspection (and the corresponding vendor billireceipt) will be forwarded to the Forest Fleet Equipment Specialist for file in the appropriate history folder. b. The Forest Fleet Equipment Specialist will review all annual inspection documents, look for trends, and provide feedback to unit fleet representatives on potential safety, mechanical and/or budget problems. 42.2 - REPAIR DUE TO NONSTANDARD USE. Excessive maintenance costs resulting from non-standard use are not intended to be part of the WCF fleet equipment rate structure. Such costs will be paid from projects funds.
