Symposium on Communication for Peace and Nonviolence November 19-20, 2015 Venue: Mizoram Central University, Aizawl, Mizoram Objectives: 1. To develop understanding of the Gandhian perspectives on communication for peace and nonviolence. 2. To look at spaces and opportunities to promote the Gandhian model of nonviolent communication especially amongst young people. 3. To delve on how communication for peace and nonviolence can contribute to nurturing of social inclusion and intercultural dialogue. 4. To delve on how communication for peace and nonviolence can contribute to mutual understanding and respect in our society. 5. To delve on how communication for peace and nonviolence can contribute to build a pluralist framework for commonly share. 6. To prompt the media in Mizoram to promote peace and non-violence in the region. 7. To make the students, researchers and others in Mizoram University to understand the benefits of peace and non-violence and also the role of media in harnessing the human and cultural capital for the purpose.
