The Floodplug is constructed from a non-corrosive high performance grade of a graygreen HMHDPE (high molecular weight high density polyethylene). Floodplug provides maximum flood protection for outside plant splices, terminations, etc. Floodplug pedestals are available in 6" x 7", 7" x 9", and 9" x 11" sizes. The modular design allows the end user to configure the pedestal according to the OSP construction requirements. Floodplug can be equipped with three different types of field splice brackets. The I-bracket is designed for applications utilizing self-supporting equipment and free standing splices. The T-bracket is designed for high capacity splice requirements and pre-term applications. The plastic divider plate has a universal hole pattern that permits mounting all types of terminal blocks. In addition to its flexible mounting capabilities, the divider plate hole pattern permits waterfalling, securing, and storing of splices. All field splice bracket options can be configured in all dome and base options where flood protection, 360° access, or nonmetallic pedestals are required. Application The Floodplug Modular Flood Pedestal serves as an above-ground housing for distribution and splicing of buried plant, where flood protection, 360° access, or non-metallic pedestals are required.
