Duryea November 13, 2014 • 12:30-2 PM Elizabeth Cady Stanton: ‘Cyrano of the Suffragettes’ Presentation by Mary Ann Jung, Award Winning Actress and Smithsonian Scholar Student Center, Room 243 This champion of the Women’s Rights Movement stood out because Elizabeth Cady Stanton had several things that many of the others lacked – a husband, seven children, tremendous writing ability and a wicked sense of humor. Stanton worked not only for women’s right to vote, but also for property rights for married women, equal guardianship of children, and liberalized divorce laws.
