Bio for Brent Armstrong, MD Brent grew up in Richardson, Texas, and graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Bioengineering in 1989. He graduated from UT Southwestern Medical School in 1993 and completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1997. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine. After residency Brent returned to the North Texas area and worked in the Emergency Department at Presbyterian Hospital of Plano for the next 10 years. Since 2008, he has worked at the Medical Center of McKinney in their Emergency Department. Currently, Brent lives in McKinney with his wife Susan and their three children. In 2008, Brent began leading medical mission trips to Uganda through his church, First Baptist McKinney. This has led to a long term relationship with Mengo Hospital, partnering with them to develop their emergency and critical care services through education and equipment donation. His emphasis has been the hospitalized patient with acute illnesses that are sequelae of chronic non-­‐ communicable diseases.
