ESF @ Cazenovia College – January 27, 2013 ESF 57 – Cazenovia 98 _____________________________________________________________________________________ ESF Men's Basketball dropped a local contest versus Cazenovia College on Sunday afternoon. The Mighty Oaks played it close for most of the 1st half, staying within 6 points at 23‐29 until the Wildcats ran out on a 14‐6 run in the final 4 minutes to close the half up 29‐43. The game truly was a tale of two halves as the Oaks chipped the lead down to 11 early in the 2nd frame, but a season low shooting half dashed any hopes of a comeback as the Oaks were outscored 28 to 55 in the second half, losing 57‐98 as Cazenovia scorched the nets going 56% from the field in the second half. ESF fell victim to a rough half of shooting, going 40% from the field in the first half but a season low 19% in the second half. The Oaks continued their woes from the free‐throw line going 14‐28 at the charity strip. Freshman Sage Beemer led the Oaks in points and boards with 12 and 7 respectively. The Mighty Oaks return to action on Saturday as they travel to the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park, NY to take on the Steels. Tip is at 1pm.
