The Bulgarian border crossing scenario details a case involving a

on their input, and other forensic science information, law enforcement officers were provided
with the contents of the container and information that greatly narrowed the search of the
possible sources.
Distribute the handout to your students to read and respond to the questions that follow. This
handout may be used as homework. Consider using the “Bulgarian Border Crossing”
PowerPoint presentation to get your students thinking what information they need to learn about
nuclear science in order to understand more about how the nuclear forensics experts were able to
help solve this case.
