VAPA COMMISIONING QUESTIONS 1. A goal of the project is to obtain LEED Gold certification, completing fundamental commissioning as well as Energy & Atmosphere Credit 3 which would indicate LEED NC 2009 will be followed, please confirm this is the case. Answer: The project will be registered under LEED NC 2009. 2. Based on the RFP it would appear that only the LEED required systems are to be commissioned, please confirm this is the case and if not provide a list of systems to be commissioned. Answer: Confirmed. 3. Is there intent to have renewable energy sources on the project that will require commissioning? Answer: No renewables are planned at this time. 4. Are drawings or a schematic narrative available indicating the design intent of the project? Answer: Schematic drawings are narratives are being developed now. 5. Are there specific scope requirements for the commissioning process or is the scope to follow the LEED process? Answer: Scope is to follow LEED process. 6. I typically see all of the services indicated in LEED EAp1 and EAc3 listed in RFQ with any additional service desired by the Owner. Do you only want the services listed in EAp1 and EAc3 or are there additional services desired by UCCS? Answer: no additional services are identified at this time. 7. Do you know what mechanical systems will be installed on the project? Answer: We are in discussions with the design team, but now systems are yet identified. 8. Do you want commissioning of the lighting systems (typically performed)? Answer: Yes. 9. Are there any renewable energy systems and if so what systems? Answer: See question 3. 10. Will the project be completed in phases? If so, please provide design and construction schedule for each phase. Answer: This RFQ is for the first (main) phase of the project. Construction is planned to begin Fall 2015. 11. Who is the project manager and primary UCCS contact during design and construction for CxA? Answer: Design: Gary Reynolds. Construction: Likely Stan Rovira 12. When will mechanical and electrical subs be selected? Answer: no earlier than completion of DD. 13. Will theatrical lighting and controls be included in the commissioning scope? Answer: No. 14. Will systems other than those required by LEED be included in the commissioning scope? Examples include smoke control, fire alarm, fire suppression, etc. Answer: See Question 2. 15. Will the CxA be required to develop the OPR for the project? If an OPR has been developed already, will you provide it to the prospective Cx providers? Answer: The CxA will be expected to assist with OPR. 16. What is the control system basis of design? Answer: UCCS currently has an RFP out for Controls Systems. The selection of a specific Controls System will depend on that selection.
