Columbia Street Colorado Springs, CO (719) 578-9391 This addendum forms a part of the Contract documents, and modifies the following as noted below: 1. Original Bid documents Dated November 23, 2009 Acknowledge receipt of all addenda in the space provided on the Bid Form. ADDENDUM CONTENT QUESTIONS Addendum #1 refers to project specifications. However no specs have been 1. provided? - Specifications are posted on the project website. 2. At the pre-bid it was mentioned that asphalt patch will be required at the tie ins to the existing streets. Most asphalt plants are closed during the time frame this project will need to be completed in. How should we handle this? The patch may be done in concrete or asphalt. 3. Is the only form we need to submit for our bid the Appendix a sheet? - The completed Bid Form (SBP-6.13) from the specifications & Bid Appendix A need to be completed and submitted; and depending on bid total a bid bond may or may not be required (refer to question 4). 4. Can you clarify that no bonding is required for this project if it is less than $100,000 and a letter from our bonding agent is sufficient if it does require a bond given the time frame of the bid? - If the bid is less than $100,000 no bid bond is required; if the bid is equal to or greater than $100,000 the bid bond is required. A letter from bonding agent indicating that the bidder is bondable, and that a completed bond can be provided if the bidder is awarded the contract is sufficient if a completed bond cannot be provided at the time of bid submission. 5. Is there a soils report for this project? - no subsurface borings were conducted for this project however information from the adjoining Event Center project was the basis for the recommended pavement design. A combination of lean 6. clay and sandy soils is expected. Is the concrete testing service provided/paid for by UCCS? - As outlined in Article 14 of the General Conditions of the Construction Contract (SC-6.23): UCCS will contract for and pay for the testing of concrete and for soils compaction testing through an independent laboratory; the Contractor shall assume the responsibility of arranging, scheduling and coordinating the concrete sample collection efforts and soils compaction efforts.
