Department of Public Safety POLICE‐ 17 full‐time State certified police officers, available 24/7/365. Provides for the safety and security of persons and property on the UCCS campus. Enforces state and federal statutes and University rules and regulations. Responsible for reporting, investigating, and processing criminal and non‐criminal safety or security related incidents on the UCCS campus. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT‐ EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT‐ Prepares campus community members for emergencies (natural or man‐made) before they occur in an effort to avoid or reduce the impact resulting from the hazard. Areas covered include planning, training, exercises, the Emergency Floor Coordinator program, and business continuity planning. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY‐ Provides safety information, specialization, review, inspection, and recommendations on the plans for environmental safety on the campus including the following areas: fire protection, occupational safety, laboratory safety, regulated hazardous waste disposal and chemical management. RISK MANAGEMENT‐ Creates, promotes, and controls safe working environment. Corrects, reduces and contains exposures and losses due to the operation of UCCS. Responsible for reporting, investigating and processing Insurance claims for and against the UCCS. PARKING ‐ Provides parking services to the UCCS campus community through the management and maintenance of parking facilities. SHUTTLE SERVICES‐ Provides shuttle services to facilitate efficient transportation of individuals to various key locations on campus. MOTOR POOL‐ Provides state vehicle rental program for campus staff and faculty to utilize in order to travel to and from various off‐campus locations while conducting University related business.
