BOARD OF REGENTS TELEPHONE MEETING

APRIL 16, 2002
The meeting was called to order at 10:35 a.m. by Chair Mike Enoch. Board members
present via telephone: Penny Butler, Margarita de la Garza Grahm, Kenneth James, Mike
Enoch, Gary Lopez, Susan Roberds, Lyn Stevens, Mike Wilhite, and Fred Wulf.
Others present in Board Room 307: Tito Guerrero, Roland Smith, Janelle Ashley Baker
Pattillo, Yvette Clark, and other SFA administrators, staff, and visitors.

Upon motion of Regent Lopez, seconded by Regent Roberds, with all members voting
aye, the following consent agenda items were approved:
A. Designated Tuition Rate
It was ordered that the designated tuition rate of $33 per semester credit hour for
academic year 2002-2003 be approved, effective with registration for the Fall 2002
semester.
B. Course Fees
It was ordered that the proposed modifications in the Schedule of Course Fees in excess
of $6.00 be approved, effective beginning with registrations for Fall 2002.
C. Laboratory Fees
It was ordered that the proposed revisions in the Schedule of Laboratory Fees be
approved, effective beginning with registrations for Fall 2002.
D. Certificate Plan Fee — Post Baccalaureate Initial Certificate Plan (PBIC)
It was ordered that the fee for a PBIC Plan, including the Deficiency Plan, be increased
from the current $40 to $60.
E. Library Fee
It was ordered that the library fee be increased from the current $2 per semester credit
hour to $3 per semester credit hour, effective beginning with registrations for Fall 2002.
F. Student Service Fee
It was ordered that the student service fee be increased to $9.50 per semester credit hour
for the 2002-2003 academic year and that the fee maximum be established at the amount
allowed by statute, effective beginning with registration for the Fall 2002 semester.
G. ARAMARK Food Service Contract
It was ordered that ARAMARK receive a 3.5% increase and the President be authorized
to sign the contract.
H. Room and Board Rates
It was ordered that the room and board rates for FY 2002-2003 be increased by 1% in
accordance with the schedule presented in Appendix No. 3. Revised rates will be
effective beginning with registration for the Fall 2002 semester.
I. Late Registration and Late Course Addition Fees
It was ordered that the University be authorized to charge a $50 per semester credit hour
fee for registrations or course additions that occur after the official census date for a
semester. Such enrollments or course additions after the official census date will be
permitted only in extraordinary circumstances and at the University's sole discretion.
