State University of New York COLLEGE OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND FORESTRY UMP-GIS Data Access Procedure for the Unit Management Planning-GIS Project An Adirondack Research Consortium Cooperative Project Welcome to the UMP-GIS Data Repository. This repository is maintained by the Adirondack Ecological Center of SUNY-ESF for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). Spatial datasets are utilized in a Geographic Information System (GIS) to assist the DEC Forest Preserve Bureau with Unit Management Planning in Adirondack Park. See http://www.esf.edu/aec/research/ump.htm. Use of data is subject to the following terms. To request data: 1. Please notify the AEC via email or mail request (see next page). Include the following: a. Your full name, affiliation, mailing address, phone number and email address. b. A list of the dataset(s) you wish to use and subsets, if any (e.g., selected years or locations). c. A brief description of the intended use(s). Include your reasons for acquiring data and a description of your analysis and publication intent. Your request will be reviewed in a timely manner and approved or denied by AEC and DEC project leaders. Some data are in development, not publicly available or sensitive and may not be accessible. 2. Direct questions regarding the interpretation of data or metadata to Stacy McNulty, AEC Project Leader. 3. Prior to publication submission: Individuals and institutions utilizing data from the repository are asked to place the following acknowledgment in any publication, report, or electronic communication in which these data are used: "Datasets were provided by the Unit Management Planning-GIS Project of the Adirondack Ecological Center, State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation." 4.
