NOTES
1. All College of Business students must complete the University Composition Competency requirement.
After completing both ENGL 120 at Grossmont or Cuyamaca College (ENGL 1310 at UCCS) and a 2nd
approved writing course (ENGL 124 and BUS 128 at Grossmont or Cuyamaca College or ENGL 2080 at
UCCS), students must either submit a Writing Portfolio or enroll in an additional upper division writing
course. Please consult a business advisor in the Student Success Center at UCCS for complete details.
2. Area 5 (Natural Science) course selection must include at least one lab course.
3. Minimum Academic Preparation Standards (MAPS) are an admission requirement. UCCS requires at least
two years of high school or two semesters of college foreign language equivalent. Students who have met the
requirement through high school work need not complete this requirement for transfer to UCCS. Students
who still need to fulfill this requirement should complete through the second semester language acquisition
course.
