The worksheet outlines the courses that should be taken at Grossmont or Cuyamaca College and indicates how the courses will fit with the Bachelor of Science (Business) at UCCS. All College of Business students must complete the University Composition Competency requirement. After completing both ENGL 120 at Grossmont or Cuyamaca College (ENGL 1310 at UCCS) and a 2nd approved writing course (ENGL 124 and BUS 128 at Grossmont or Cuyamaca College or ENGL 2080 at UCCS), students must either submit a Writing Portfolio or enroll in an additional upper division writing course. Please consult a business advisor in the Student Success Center at UCCS for complete details. 2. Area 5 (Natural Science) course selection must include at least one lab course. 3. Minimum Academic Preparation Standards (MAPS) are an admission requirement. UCCS requires at least two years of high school or two semesters of college foreign language equivalent. Students who have met the requirement through high school work need not complete this requirement for transfer to UCCS. Students who still need to fulfill this requirement should complete through the second semester language acquisition course. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The following information applies only if the student completes all of the courses listed above prior to transfer. It is understood that after a student has been admitted to the College of Business, all courses will be taken in residence at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. 1. Students who follow the above curriculum can opt to continue their studies either in residence at UCCS or through an online degree completion program. The online program is for students who have completed the first 60 credits through Grossmont or Cuyamaca College and who will complete their degree taking 60 credits in online coursework offered through the College of Business at UCCS. 2. Transfer students with a minimum 2.0 GPA will be considered for admission to the university. However, in order to be accepted to the College of Business, students need a 2.7 GPA. 3. Courses accepted in transfer to the College of Business at UCCS are not necessarily accepted for transfer to any other school or college in the University of Colorado System. 4. The University of Colorado Colorado Springs College of Business will accept a maximum of 60 semester hours in transfer from Community Colleges. 5. A minimum of 45 semester hours of upper-level (3000/4000) course work is required for the Bachelor of Science in Business degree at UCCS. 6. Only courses with a grade of “C-” or better will be accepted in transfer. 7. Students accepted to the College of Business degree program will receive notification from the UCCS Admissions Office. An academic advisor will complete an evaluation of transfer work. Transfer students will receive a copy of their evaluation when they attend a required Transfer Orientation. 2012-2013
