NOTES
1. All School of Public Affairs students must complete the University Composition Competency requirement. After
completing both ENGL 101 and ENGL 105 at SDCCD (ENGL 1310 and ENGL 1410 at UCCS), students must either
submit a Writing Portfolio or enroll in an additional upper division writing course. Please consult an academic advisor in
the Student Success Center at UCCS for complete details.
2. Area 5 (Natural Science) course selection must include at least one lab course.
3. The CJ 4042 equivalency will only be awarded if the student achieves a B, or better, grade in the course. UpperDivision credit will not be awarded.
4. Student must complete ADJU 270 for 4 credit hours which must include a minimum of 160 clock hours. UpperDivision credit will not be awarded.
5. Students who complete PSYC 258 with a B, or better, grade will be waived out of the CJ 3150 requirement, but will
have to replace the upper-division CJ hours for the degree program.
6. Minimum Academic Preparation Standards (MAPS) are an admission requirement. UCCS requires at least two years of
high school or two semesters of college foreign language equivalent. Students who have met the requirement through high
school work need not complete this requirement for transfer to UCCS. Students who still need to fulfill this requirement
should complete through the second semester language acquisition course.

completed the first 60 credits through the SDCCD and who will complete their degree taking 60 credits
in online coursework offered through the School of Public Affairs at UCCS.
