Not meeting our English language
proficiency requirements?
The Intensive English Program is uniquely designed to meet
the needs of students who have not met the university’s
minimum English proficiency requirement. Upon the completion
of our Intensive English Program, you automatically fulfill
the university’s English proficiency requirement and will be
eligible for full admission to UCCS. To learn more about our
IEP program, please email iep@uccs.edu.
UCCS offers competitive merit-based scholarships for all
students. Please be aware that most UCCS scholarship
deadlines are on February, 1.

›› Global Engagement Office (GEO)
The Global Engagement Office (GEO) supports international students by assisting them to make cultural transitions from the day of
arrival and providing information for students to better access campus resources. The office also helps students to better understand
academic courses, American classroom practices and university policies. The GEO office works extensively with the Admissions
Office to provide students with immigration and visa information.
›› Intensive English Program (IEP)
The English Language Center provides students with a culturally sensitive, supportive environment in which to build English language
proficiency and academic skills. Opportunities for creative language practice and expression of ideas are provided in both contentrich classes and learning experiences outside of the classroom. One-on-one tutor services are also provided.
›› Conversation Table
UCCS conversation table provides the opportunity for non-native speakers to practice their conversational English with native
speakers. It’s free and is a great way to meet American students and form friendships — all while improving your spoken English!
›› iBuddy Program
iBuddy program helps international students to make friends with American students. Through cultural exchanges, fun activities on
and off campus and conversation table programs, International students will improve English both on their academic and social level!
›› First Year Experience
The First Year Experience Program helps international students to be connected on campus and have a great first year experience.
The program promotes growth and development by assisting students in setting and accomplishing their educational goals, and
helping students with academic skill development.
›› Career Center
The Career Center's mission is to help students secure promising career opportunities. Social networking events with employers,
workshops for professional development and job fairs are arranged all year round to help students to succeed professionally.
›› Multicultural Office for Students Access, Inclusiveness, and Community (M.O.S.A.I.C.)
The M.O.S.A.I.C office involves students of all backgrounds and build an inclusive campus climate.
M.O.S.A.I.C staff work directly with international students clubs to provide social
support and arrange events to help international students to
succeed socially.
