Welcome!
The Multicultural Office for Student Access, Inclusiveness and Community (M.O.S.A.I.C.)
would like to welcome you to the UCCS campus! We are happy that you are here and want to
make sure that you have as much information as possible to make your experience at UCCS a
great one. We have compiled this resource guide with you specifically in mind.
As a UCCS student, you have access to all of the campus resources available to our domestic
students, most of which are listed here. This means you have the ability to participate in student
clubs and organizations, student activities and events, the campus recreation center and much
more. We have also included information related to places of worship, how to get around both
campus and the Colorado Springs area, and where the closest shopping areas are—specifically
grocery stores and restaurants.
We know that you may have questions about these and many other things concerning American
culture and practices, therefore, we want to encourage you to ask us! We are dedicated to serving
international students at UCCS; please come into our office or email us about anything you want
to know about the United States, our diverse culture, or campus.
We are located in the University Center, room 110 (right around the corner from the Bookstore)
and we are here for YOU!
Sincerely,
M.O.S.A.I.C. Staff

Public Safety located in on the 2nd floor of the UCCS Parking Garage. You can find a copy of the
bicycle route map here.
Additionally, the university has several bike racks located outside of campus buildings for
securing your bike. All campus shuttles and the Colorado Springs’ Mountain Metro Transit buses
are equipped with bicycle racks. Do note that bikes are not permitted inside any university
buildings, nor are bicycles to be locked to features (such as fences, light posts, signs, etc.) other
than designated bicycle racks.
Note: Students, faculty, and staff who ride to campus must register their bikes with the

Additionally, here are some helpful hints:
1. Lock your bicycle: Bicycle thieves will take bicycles that are unlocked. Various types
of locks may be purchased in stores.
2. Follow the bicycle traffic laws: According to Colorado Law, all bicycles must follow
Colorado Department of Motor Vehicle rules and regulations. Go to
http://www.dmv.org/co-colorado/safety-laws.php . Remember, you can still get cited
by the City of Colorado Springs for traffic violations; not knowing the law is not an
acceptable reason for getting out of a ticket.
