Major Requirements
General Education Core
r English Composition (6 hours)
For the degree in applied science, the student must
declare a specialization. Hours transferring into the
major must relate to the declared specialization. Any
technical or skill credits in a related area may be
included.

Other Degree Requirements
The BAS in Applied Science is a 124-hour degree.
Besides the major, the following are required*:
n Professional Development:
This section includes 24 semester hours general elective
credit with approval by advisor.
n Experiential Professional Development: Up to 12
semester hours can be earned from work experience with
military performance evaluations, job performance
appraisals or a supervisor’s evaluation on a WBU form.
r Eighteen (18) semester hours of
specialization-related courses:
n General Electives: Nine semester hours required.
