TMJ 201 - Mechanical Manufacturing Technology
Mechanical Manufacturing is a shop that allows you to
work with metal using machine shop techniques and
skills. The course is a hands on, practical based
format with most instruction delivered through
demonstrations and one-on-one help. The work
includes both teacher assigned projects as well as
student designed projects. $20 covers materials
TMJ 202 - Manufacturing Technology - Welding
This course introduces practical welding concepts.
Students will learn how to use various welding equipment
safely, in addition to blueprint reading, welding symbols,
organizational skills and problem solving. The course has
a high percentage of hands on learning with many
opportunities to practice the required skills to complete
mandatory projects. $25 covers materials.
TCJ 201 - Construction Technology
This course introduces students to residential construction
skills in the areas of building components and systems
using common construction tools, equipment and
techniques. This hands on course allows students to work
both individually and in groups.
$25 covers materials
TCJ 202 - Woodworking
This is an introductory course with hands on, project
based ideas. Concepts such as safety, measuring, hand
tools, and machine use are covered. Students will create
function projects out of wood which they can take home.
$20 covers materials.
TXJ 201 - Hairstyling and Aesthetics
Introductory hairstyling, skin care and the importance of health
and safety including the environmental laws and practice in the
salon are covered. Topics include product selection, professional
shampooing, hairstyling which includes: braiding, curling,
straightening. Also manicuring skin care, makeup, professional
salon image and careers in the industry are covered. There is a
suggested $25.00 fee to enhance learning.
TMJ 3C1 - Mechanical Manufacturing Technology
This course allows you to develop mechanical and
engineering abilities while learning machine shop
techniques. Skills are learned through hands on,
practical activities and demonstrations. Students are
provided frequent opportunities to work in groups and
also create individual projects. Skill gained in this
course could lead to many trades and apprenticeships,
or provide a foundation for studies in engineering and
related careers. $20 cover materials.
TMW 3E1 - Welding
Students who have completed TMJ20W will take their
knowledge and understandings of welding to the next level.
In this course students will increase their abilities through
more difficult procedures and practices, such as learning
how to arc and mig weld in the vertical position and more
oxy-acetylene cutting. One of the mandatory projects will be
a Community based product. $30 covers materials.
TCJ 3C1 - Construction Engineering Technology
This is an introductory course intended to expose students to
residential construction. Topics include: site planning,
foundations, framing, plumbing, drywall, roof systems, and
portable power tools. Class time is divided between theory
and practical work. $25 covers materials.
TWJ 3E1 - Custom Woodworking
For both the beginner and experienced student, topics
such as materials, tools, equipment, joinery and
construction are taught with a hands on approach. Project
work is a major component of this course as students learn
by doing. Students are provided with an opportunity to
design and build a custom project of their choice. $30
covers materials.
TMJ 4C1 - Mechanical Manufacturing Technology
This course allows you to develop mechanical and
engineering abilities while learning machine shop

TMW 4E1- Manufacturing Technology - Welding
Students who have completed TMW3E will take their
knowledge and understandings of welding to the next
level. In this course students will increase their abilities
through more difficult procedures and practices at an
advanced level , such as learning how to arc and mig weld
in the overhead position along with an introduction to tig
welding. This course is project theory based learning. $35
covers materials. PREREQUISITE: TMW3E1
TCJ 4C1 - Construction Engineering Technology
This course is intended for the student who is interested in developing a further
understanding of residential construction with an emphasis on construction careers.
The topics of framing, plumbing, roof systems, and portable power tools are
reviewed and further explored. The topics of electrical, masonry, interior finishes,
and architectural drawings are introduced. Theoretical learning in combination with
practical work,problem solving activities reinforce key elements of this course. $25
covers materials. PREREQUISITE: TCJ3C1
TXJ 3E1 - Hairstyling and Aesthetics
This course builds on skills learned in TXJ2E1. Students will continue to
study the importance of and practice health and safety as well as
environmental laws. We will learn how science connects through
hairshaping, hairstyling, haircutting, colouring, skincare and makeup.
Expect most work to hands on with some written work. Students should
be prepared to work on other students and clients to practice
professionalism. Suggested $60 fee to enhance learning.
Includes mannequin.
TWJ 4E1 - Custom Woodworking
This practical course is designed for the student who is interested in
developing a further understanding of woodworking. Topics include:
furniture construction, design, advanced techniques, and working
drawings. Project work includes several small assignments before
students choose their own projects. Students will be working at their
own pace when working on projects under the guidance of the
Instructor. $35. covers materials. PREREQUISITE: TWJ 3E1
TXJ 4E1 - Hairstyling and Aesthetics
This course is for students wanting to pursue a career or gain a deeper
knowledge of Cosmetology. Students will learn hair-colouring, perming, hair
cutting techniques, facials, make-up application, salon management and
business.Students are expected to regularly work on clients/classmates to
better make the connection to a salon environment. $30 fee suggested.
