MPM 1D - Academic - Principles of Math This course is intended for students who demonstrated considerable success in grade 8 math. Course content focuses on the theoretical topics of algebra and analytic geometry. Students will need to think abstractly and have a strong work ethic to achieve success. MFM 1P - Applied Math - Foundations of Mathematics This course is intended for those who are going on to college or directly to the workplace after high school. MPM 2D - Principles of Mathematics This course is intended for students to develop algebraic and analytic skills needed for college or university pathways that lead to mathematicsrelated programs such as engineering, science, technology and finance. The pace is quick and daily homework can be expected. Successful completion of Grade 9 Academic math - MPM1D with at least 70% is recommended. MFM 2P - Foundations of Math This course is intended for students who are going to college in an engineering, science, technology or business discipline. Topics include trigonometry, linear systems, quadratics and measurement and is also recommended for students interested in the construction or trades industries. Strong algebra and integer skills required. 65% in MFM 1P recommended. NOTE: MHF 4U Advanced Functions must be taken prior to or concurrently with MCV 4U - Calculus and Vectors. MCR 3U - Functions This course is designed to prepare students for a math or science rich university program. The content and pace of this course demands consistent application of skill and effort including daily attendance/homework/review. Oral and written communication skills are essential in order to demonstrate a deep understanding of course concepts and an ability to extend the concepts in solving related problems. Prerequisite: MPM 2D (70%) MCF 3M - Functions and Applications This course is designed to prepare students for a university or college program which does not emphasize math or science. The content and pace of this course demands consistent application of skill and effort including daily attendance/homework/review. MPM 2D (65%) or MFM2P (85%) MBF 3C - Foundations for College Math This course is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills they need to meet the requirements for entrance to most apprenticeship programs, college programs or other training programs. The content and pace of this course demands consistent application of skill and effort including daily attendance and regular homework/review. MAT 1L - Essential Math This course is designed to help students catch up on and develop their essential and fundamental math skills. PREREQUISITE: MPM 2D or MFM 2P (65% recommended) MAT 2L - Essential Math This course is designed to help students who need to catch up on and continue to develop their fundamental math skills. MEL 3E - Workplace Math This course is for those who are going directly to the workplace. This course alternates each year with MEL 4E. PREREQUISITE: Any grade 9 or 10 Math. MEL 3E AND MEL 4E are offered in alternate years MCV 4U - Calculus and Vectors This course is intended for students going on to university in math related subjects. PREREQUISITE: MHF 4U MHF 4U - Advanced Functions This course is intended for students going on to university in math related subjects. It is recommended that you will have achieved 65% in MCR 3U or 75% in MCT 4C. PREREQUISITE: MCR 3U OR MCT 4C. MDM 4U - Data Management This course is designed to prepare students for university. Students will apply methods for organising and analysing large amounts of information: solve problems involving probability & statistics: complete a culminating investigation research paper which integrates statistical concepts and skills. This course is project driven. The content and pace of this course demands consistent application of skill and effort including daily attendance & regular homework/review. Oral and written communication skills are essential. PREREQUISITE: MCR 3U (65% recommended) or MCF 3M (70% recommended). MCT 4C - Math for College Technology This course is intended for students going on to college or university in math realated subjects. Successful completion of MCF 3M with at least a 70% or MCR 3U with at least a 65% is recommended. PREREQUISITE: MCF 3M OR MCR 3U. May be only offered through e-learning.
