Man - Inventor - Genius
Leonardo da Vinci was one of the greatest geniuses the world has ever
known. More than five hundred years ago, he designed flying machines, robots, submarines, underwater breathing gear and solar powered industries;
laid the groundwork for the artificial heart valve; and created some of the
greatest paintings in the history of art. With little formal education, his brilliance lay in his ability to master different subjects and fuse them together
through observation, insight and inspiration.
Exhibits Development Group is pleased to invite you to participate in an
exhibition tour that includes 60 full-scale models of da Vinci’s inventions.
Masterfully crafted by an Italian family of artisans that has been recreating
da Vinci’s inventions for two centuries, the models are divided into four
themes: war, flight, mechanics and hydraulics. They have been constructed
using 15th century materials and techniques after original sketches from
four of the ten known codices written by da Vinci.
The exhibition includes interactive computer stations, an educational “time
room”, a movie theater and recordings of music arranged after da Vinci’s
compositions. The interactive computer stations, developed in cooperation
with the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Austria, give access to simulations of da Vinci’s inventions, which can be tried and tested by visitors.
In addition to the objects included in Man-Inventor-Genius hosting venues
may also choose to present, at no extra cost, Leonardo da Vinci: Man-ArtistGenius. Focusing on da Vinci’s artistic career, this sister-exhibition showcases the 23 known da Vinci paintings replicated to scale. Together, the
two exhibitions make this the most comprehensive and educational review
of da Vinci work ever to tour the United States. Join the great museums of
Vienna, Berlin, Seoul, Prague, Chicago, Seattle, Houston, Detroit, etc. in
hosting this extraordinary display of scientific invention and artistic genius.
Experience Genious , be inspired by one of history’s
greatest scientists and inventors in the world premiere exhibition,
Leonardo da Vinci: Man-Inventor-Genius.
