2016 Outstanding Teaching Award Guidelines Full-time Tenure Line Eligibility All full-time resident tenure line faculty in at least their second year of teaching for the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at UCCS who have not previously won the award are eligible. Award The Teaching Award consists of a $500 stipend (before taxes) and a $500 increase in base pay (after annual salary increments are calculated). Nomination Procedure Nominations may be made by any student, full-time faculty or staff member. Please submit: 1. 2. 3. 4. A two-page (maximum) letter of nomination.(required) Three additional letters with at least two from students.(required) A two-page (maximum) teaching philosophy.(required) Teaching evaluations for the past two years. (FCQ summaries and original response sheets)(required) 5. All syllabi from the past two years. Additional syllabi may be added. If the same course has been taught more than once only one syllabus is needed.(required) 6. Other supporting materials not to exceed one 3-inch binder. These materials can include additional letters of support, course handouts, a peer review of teaching, videotaped lectures, podcasts, Blackboard, website URLs, etc. 7. List of times the nominee is available for in-class visits by members of the Teaching Committee between April 4th – April 15th. Classes where examinations, student presentations, movies, etc. will be conducted are inappropriate.(required) Please submit materials by April 1st to Margie Oldham in the LAS Dean's Office. ***Please make sure that your application materials are complete before turning them in.
