Not only is it unusually strong. It’s flexible and
sustainable too.
The most valuable asset in our entire production
chain is the wood fibre we use. Although only a few
millimetres long and a fraction of a millimetre wide, it’s
a major player in what we do — and why we do it.
Our fresh wood fibre comes from our own sustainably
managed forests in northern Sweden. The sustainability
profile of these forests, and the proximity between
forest and mill, make our premium product range a
greener choice than most recycled products. Our unique
Kraftliner is produced at state-of-the-art mills, which we
continuously improve and develop to ensure we use the
most modern technology available.
Besides the superior durability of our fibre, when the
product has been used the fibre still retains most of its
essential properties and can be recycled again and again
for a more sustainable, higher-quality product cycle.
The Nordic climate is particularly favorable for slowgrowing forests. This produces exceptionally long, strong,
and long-life fibres that are perfect for our products and
guarantee a consistent high quality.

always keep our promises. What we offer you is a
guaranteed minimum. This gives you good safety
margins throughout the production process.
Bursting strength, compression strength (SCT),
tensile stiffness, moisture variations, surface roughness,
brightness, colour and grammage are just some of the
properties we monitor carefully. It’s by measuring this
wide range of parameters that we are able to guarantee
the quality of every reel.

The Kraftliner Philosophy
This is the full range of our unique Kraftliners from
SCA Containerboard. All products are based on our
high-quality line, SCA Kraftliner, made from a base layer
of mainly fresh fibre and a surface layer of the finest
unbleached fresh fibre.
All Kraftliner product extensions — White Top, Wet
Strength, Heavy Duty — are the result of our own R&D.
By adding reliable technical properties to our main
product, we achieve outstanding performance for a

These programmes are specially designed to
educate and further develop key personnel within certain
areas. All courses handle real challenges you might be
facing — what is the problem at hand? — and focus on
collaboration and coming up with solutions together.
SCA Innovation Programme
Our greatest R&D assets are the people working here
and their high level of competence. We place great
focus on finding methods to increase the speed of
innovation, and have a number of labs where we
develop prototypes and analyse perception. Along
with our innovation insight room and state-of-the-art
equipment this creates an environment highly conducive

SCA Optimisation Programme
To help you get the full use of your corrugator and
optimise the choice of liners, we have developed the
Corrugated Performance Programme.
During a 2–3 day audit, we analyse the complete
corrugation process. We then recommend improvements
on runnability, efficiency, quality and the overall
performance of your corrugator.
Note that many of the improvements we propose
are already introduced and brought into practice
during the audit.
The results and recommendations of the full
audit are presented in a detailed report that include
recommendations on personnel, equipment, corrugator
performance, waste reduction, and more.
