6.2 Central Accumulation Areas Every department/college is required to have a designated waste storage area to move the waste from satellite accumulation areas. The Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management Department must be notified of the location of this central storage area. It is only from this area that the EHS&RM picks up waste to be moved to the University central waste storage area. Waste in the designated department/college central storage area cannot be stored for more than 90 days. Weekly inspections, specific storage requirements, emergency procedure availability, training, and recordkeeping are required for both the satellite accumulation and central storage areas.
