Submission Process:
1. Bring the following submission materials in a large envelope or folder to Rm 102C, office of
Dr. Mitzi Perritt, in the Human Sciences South Building (located by the President’s Home at
the corner of Raguet and Starr Avenue) by 5:00 pm, Friday, September 12, 2014.
a. Two 8-1/2” x 11” color computer printouts on regular paper.
b. 50-word typed description of the decorative features incorporated in your room’s design
(so the judges will understand your design more fully)
c. $5 entry fee (cash).
d. Completed submission form (see page 2)
2. A panel of interior design/interior merchandising students and faculty will select the top
five finalists.
3. Finalists will be announced by Friday, September 19, 2014, via SFA Exes Website and
contacted by telephone and email to schedule a private tour for the panel of judges.
Additional photographs will be taken and uploaded to the SFA Axes website through the
Office of Student Affairs for campus-wide electronic voting. Flyers, posters, and online
advertisements will publicize the contest.
4. Finalists will need to encourage other students to vote for their room design. Winning
entry determined by popular vote (50%) and panel of judges (50%).
5. Winning student(s) will be announced on Friday, October 3, 2014, via SFA Axes website.
Winner(s) should contact Dr. Mitzi Perritt at 936-468-2155 to arrange for pickup of $100
prize money (roommates split the money) and official contest winner photo.
