March 12, 2013 CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS Note: The buildings on the UCCS campus are divided into two categories: General Fund and Auxiliaries. General Fund Buildings include academic and administrative functions. Auxiliary buildings include dormitories, athletic, and dining facilities. In some cases, construction standards differ depending on the building category. Confirm building category with Facilities Services Project Manager. DIVISION FIVE: METALS Site Railings: Several styles of site railings have been approved for use on the campus. See the Campus Design Guidelines. APPENDIX 5. All site railings are to be powder coated with RAL # 6009. Avoid use of light rails (lighting integrated with handrails) Skate Stops: In general, skate stops are provided on railings and concrete knee walls to minimize damage from skateboards. On concrete walls, use SkateStoppers, stainless steel, “G” series. Space approximately 4 feet on center. 1
